Black Keys pre-sale tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes. I know this because it took me 20 minutes to get through Artist Arena’s poorly designed excuse for a digital waiting room, only to learn that a few hundred, thousand, maybe? were luckier than me. Not more punctual, as I had an alarm on my phone, an Outlook calendar invite, two monitors, 4 browsers and even a friendly helper on my behalf prepared to click, refresh and purchase promptly at 10 am CST.
I miss the golden days of the Black Keys when tickets cost less than $60. Now I’ll have to compete with the masses on Friday when they go on sale to the public.
I experienced something similar a few months ago when Radiohead tickets went on sale at the same arena Black Keys will be headlining in April. Lady Gaga, Drake and fucking Katy Perry play at this place - it’s a fucking basketball arena.
Anyway, this Austin 360 article humorously, but accurately, describes the plight of the masses. Fortunately, I succeeded in my Radiohead endeavor, but feel bad for everyone else who stood in line and didn’t.
What else can you do when supply just doesn’t match the overwhelming demand? The only solution would be adding more shows, which is impossible because the Keys’ tour schedule is already determined. I’m in a pretty bummed mood - possibly because I’m preparing myself for disappointment on Friday. We’ll see how it goes - keep your fingers crossed for me.

haha I feel your pain. I remember when the Black Keys and the Black Angels played a low-key ACL after party in 2008 in ATX at stubs. I think tickets were $15. Oh, the good old days.
